Though he passed away more than a year ago, Steve Jobs legacy and lessons (both the good and bad) continue to shape our view of the world. The blog Inneractive recently uncovered a one minute video of Jobs sharing his vision of the world and, more importantly, his view on possibility. Jobs succinctly dissects the shortsightedness of the walls we build as we grow older to confine our own imagination.
His advice feels particularly applicable to those leaders striving to bring change to the federal government--a big ship that turns slowly, anchored by its own architecture and design. Jobs says the key is to realize that "everything around you you call life was made up by people who were no smarter than you--and you can change it."
It's an explication of the slogan that would come to define his company and his life's work: think different.
