the MINUTEMEN backstage at the Whisky in Hollywood, circa 1982. By this time the Minutemen were practically becoming the house band at the Whisky, not since THE DOORS had an L.A. Band become so well liked by the press, nightclubs and music fans alike. This photo was used for the poster and cover of the DVD i believe for the Minutemen Documentary "WE JAM ECONO" and in my original MY RULES photozine. Three great guys playing unique music in bursts, until a horrible accident on the road ended the life of the great D. Boon, horribly sad for all of us who knew him as the salt of the earth, one of the purest, one of the "good ones" and of course the fans to loose such a great band. This is just a scan off my proof sheet of course, and truth be told, the shaved heads were just a goof for these guys, i think this gig was the only time they all shaved their heads, silly enough reason to make it one of the only times i think i ever photographed them for a 'group portrait'. #theminutemen #DBoon #mikewatt #georgehurley #newalliance #SST #punkrockchangedourlives #punk #SanPedro #Pedro #politics #inspiration #integrity #thisisBobDylantome #3piece #pettibone #DoubleNicklesOnTheDime
