Greenpeace celebrates all the corporate overlords they’ve upset over their 40 years
Brian from Greenpeace sez, "Greenpeace is 40 years old today, and one of the ad agencies we've worked with over the years made this for us. The agency asked to remain anonymous, so as not to lose any clients that might think they're represented here. Awww. We're truly touched."I love this one.

Sergio Leone remix of truck-eating bridge
It 11foot8.com, a website devoted to a low-clearance bridge in Durham, North Carolina that shaves the tops off of about a dozen trucks a year, created this video compilation of the nine trucks and one RV that were can opened in 2010. As Mr. Jalopy would say, "This is my favorite kind of problem - someone else's."

10:10 NO Pressure
environmental awareness campaign
gone bad?
Looking through the usual environmental blogs i stumbled upon this video not to long ago. so before you watch it let's just check these two comments: "Some might say that the 10:10 “No Pressure” ad was a resounding success, because it got so much media attention. Others – perhaps those who got it temporarily removed from YouTube – say it’s a grotesque example of shoving environmentalism down people’s throats. Whatever your opinion, blowing up schoolchildren is clearly one way to get noticed."
and then the actual people who put it together made this apology:
fucking awesome ending.
and then the actual people who put it together made this apology:
Last week, 10:10 made available a short film. Following the initial reaction to the film we removed it from our website and issued an apology on Friday 2 October. Many will say this is a perfect example of what NOT to do when trying to convince people that there is a problem, i'm certainly not one for gore, but i think it's pretty heavy and makes the point well.
Subsequently there has been negative comment about the film, particularly on blogs, and concern from others working hard to build support for action on climate change. We are very sorry if this has distracted from their efforts.
We are also sorry to our corporate sponsors, delivery partners and board members, who have been implicated in this situation despite having no involvement in the film’s production or release.
We will learn from this mistake. Today I have written to supporters and stakeholders explaining that we will review processes and procedures to make sure it cannot happen again. Responsibility for this process is being taken by the 10:10 board.
The media coverage of the film was not the kind of publicity we wanted for 10:10, nor for the wider movement to reduce carbon emissions.
If people have been in touch with us personally about the film, we will be replying to individual emails over the next few days. Meanwhile our thanks go out to all those who support 10:10 and who work to combat the threat of climate change.

Viral Video Commercial of the Month
I hate to post a commercial, especially for products i don't use or never would, but when something is so undeniably bad ass, I feel compelled to share it.
My friend Seth Rosko just told me this guy actually owns DC shoes and is a Skateboarder, go figure he'd drive a car like this.
Gymkhana (Jim-kah-nuh a.k.a. Jim Conner) - An automotive sport that takes place in a parking lot, an abandoned airport, an international shipping port or epic 86 year-old european track that requires drivers to skillfully maneuver their cars around a series of cones, slaloms, turns, figure eights and possibly a 51-degree bank using extreme acceleration, breaking and drifting.
Similar to "autocross" Gymkhana courses are often complex, and memorizing the course is a significant part of this type of motor sport.
In an effort to take the Gymkhana concept to a new level, the driver searched the world over to find the ultimate playground. this is the result.
Shot just south of Paris, France in Linas at l'Autodrome de Linas --Montlhéry, this 1.58 mile oval track, built in 1924, features banks as steep as 51 degrees, which is more than double the standard incline of most NASCAR ovals. Chosen by the "star" driver" for this specific reason, the ramp-like banking proved to be a unique and exciting challenge. The driving physics for the stunts performed were totally unknown until he attempted the maneuvers during filming.

The Majestic Plastic Bag
Ah, the plastic cycle of life! Heal The Bay produced this advocacy video, the message of which is: put an end to plastic pollution. The short-form "nature mockumentary" is narrated by Academy Award-winning actor Jeremy Irons and tracks the "migration" of a plastic bag from a grocery store parking lot to the so-called Great Pacific Garbage Patch in the Pacific Ocean.
