As promised here's one of the better ones... DANZIG - this photo is an out take from the first ever photo session the DANZIG band did. I was actually the person who recommended to Rick Rubin that they get Chuck Biscuits when he told me they were looking for a drummer, in fact i also was the person who introduced Rick to Glenn! Glenn was very skeptical, he was like "why do I need to meet a rap producer? I said "trust me he's a big fan of yours he wants to help you out". We ate slices at Ben's Pizza on MacDougal, and the rest is music history correct? So of course I was asked to shoot their first photos, if y'all like this one i got a bunch more i can post over time, let me know. Turns out pleasing Glenn during this period was next to impossible, so thats why most of these have never been seen, but there are some classics... Of course Glenn and I became friendly when he was in the Misfits, and i knew Biscuits from his days in D.O.A. and Black Flag (arguably the best line up they ever had) so we had a good time shooting along the cliffs on the Palisades between Fort Lee and Englewood New Jersey. #Danzig #misfits #glenndanzig #chuckbiscuits #johnchrist #EerieVon #7thHouse #Evil #defAmerican #rickrubin #samhain #newjersey #lodi

Misfits Danzig, Rollins and Liberty all screaming into the same mic from my Instagram

MISFITS - GLENN DANZIG with HENRY ROLLINS (Black Flag) and EARL LIBERTY (Saccharine Trust) singing along together at The Whisky, circa 1982. * I believe this was the first time i saw the Misfits and took them seriously, after Henry (Rollins) urging, it was hard at first to get past the spooky shit and the get-ups, but they were really great, fun, and loud! I pulled out my camera and shot a roll or two this evening. Great time. This post was spurred by the recent reunion gigs. And i heard the one in Jersey also sold out! GLENN DANZIG circa 1985. We made this photograph sometime after the MISFITS, between SamHain and the start of Danzig. I don't remember the exact reason for doing this session but perhaps Glenn had contacted me to do it since he was getting ready to go solo? We took this roll at my fathers apartment in Fort Lee, NJ on the floor by the kitchen, there was this little carpeted wall with one of those adjustable drafting table type light fixtures attached to the top, so i was able to point it in just the right way for our photographs. One similar to this was used in my FUCK YOU TOO book. Glenn of course was still living in Lodi, NJ at the time, so it was a simple quick evening. It's definitely my favorite solo "Elvis" portrait i made with him. I guess we used to get along pretty well back then, since i introduced him to Rick Rubin around this time and was helpful in getting Chuck Biscuits to be a part of the new project. #DANZIG #misfits #WeAre138 #Mother #20EyesInMyHead #AllHellBreaksLoose #NewJersey #dirtyJerz

JAM MASTER JAY of Run-DMC (R.I.P.) "Jam Master Jay" Jason Mizell ... Every day without him in this world is our loss. He was a great friend and an awesome talent. The backbone behind Run-DMC, as if you didn't already know. We made this photo the first time i traveled out to Hollis with him back in the fall of 1985. The goal was to shoot RUN-DMC's "photo tour book" for the upcoming "Raising Hell" tour. We did that and more, we got a ton of great stuff this day that you see all over my books...
